The club was Founded in 1878 as Newton Heath L&YR Football Club. The club first started in division 1 and climbed to the top highest league in the english football. The club has been in the english league for 136 years. Club entered the Highest division in 1892-1893 season. During 1902,
Club changed its name to
MANCHESTER UNITED. And moved to a new stadium called
"Old Trafford." The club won its first english title in 1908. After this period the club had its downturns and failed to win any title until their first FA cup win in 1948. During 1950's, the leadership was taken over by the new manager "Sir Matt Busby." Who built a tremendous squad, which is famously known by many football lovers as "Busby babes." But unfortunately in 1950, the team plane crashed while flying to Germany for the final European Cup in which 8 of the players died.
The rebuilding of the club took many years, through which famous players were born and arose within the club named George Best, Bobby charlton and Denis law. After years the club won its first title after the crash and rebuilding in 1968, it was the European Cup. Which made Manchester United to be the first english team to win this title. This started the Glory era of Manchester United. The club has currently won 20 English league titles , 4 League Cups , 11 FA Cups , 3 European Championships and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.
